Man Convicted of First-Degree Murder in 2017 Death of Aspiring Model
Ashley Geddes was killed one day before her 25th birthday.
On April 7, 2021, a jury found 28-year-old Cedrick Oliver Russell guilty of first-degree murder, burglary, sodomy, stealing, tampering with evidence and tampering with a motor vehicle in the 2017 death of his neighbour, 24-year-old Ashley Nicole Geddes of Kansas City, Missouri.
Ashley’s mother, Stacy Gicante, became worried when she couldn’t get a hold of her. They went shopping together on May 29 and last spoke via text on May 30 at approximately 10 pm. On May 31, all of Stacy’s calls and texts to her daughter went unanswered.
On June 1, which was also Ashley’s 25th birthday, her mother and uncle drove over to her townhouse located at 10508 E. 45th Place and knocked on the door but there was no answer. They walked around to the back of the house and found the sliding door to the kitchen open.
