On Friday, September 29, 2017, 25-year-old Anne Faber decided to take a bicycle ride in Soest, a small town in the Netherlands rich with forests and meadows often used as training grounds for the Dutch armed forces. Anne rode her bike towards Den Dolder, a small village containing several shops, restaurants and schools.
Suddenly, a heavy downpour of rain began to fall. Anne took out her phone, snapped a selfie and sent it to her boyfriend. The text was sent at 6:50 pm and it was the last time anyone heard from Anne.
